Fr. Amamoto

A message from Reverend Father Akiyoshi AMAMOTO

During the era of Shogun in Japan, this area of Asakusa Torikoe witnessed the shedding of much martyr blood due to the ban on Christianity.
Following the Meiji Restoration and the subsequent abolition of the ban, the history of Asakusa Church as we know it today began in 1877.

Visible things undergo constant change and flux.
However, the invisible love that sustains us remains immutable and eternal.
Through Jesus Christ, who exemplified carrying the cross and walking alongside us, regardless of circumstances, may we find assurance in being loved.
It is my hope that we can spend time together in prayer.
